Divign Walks with Purple Boots

I can barely afford my monthly cellphone payment.  But by gosh, the more I have this quality camera in my pocket --aka iphone6plus -- the more I will put it to work to serve and entertain me.  And now you.

I like wandering with spiritual and creative people.  We explore and discover delights of little things and  amazing humans in unlikely places.  We know instantly that a sacred story is in the works.  What makes it sacred?  That we find extraordinary people living ordinary and usually difficult days.  If we stop to notice them - the them of them - we become innocent and curious as they tell us their story.  Of course there is hardship, but there is so much love, faith, and resilience also.

It is in these moments  I witness the intersectionality of humility and confidence, creativity and courage, connection and compassion, clarity and calm.   I bring a big dose of humility and curiosity not only because I am able, but because I need to be there.  It is there that I learn the most, saved the most, able to serve the most.   I'm not sure why.  I've learned the regular way and remembered the facts until the  moment the exam ended.  And then I didn't know how or why to keep it.   No matter how much I learned, I only remembered what mattered easily to me; what I could never forget.  Unless it involved art, play, along with  the company of a few close ones, I couldn't get interested, really.

As we wander through our communities and lands, may we make play and art of it all.  As long as we're together, we'll be glad of this and feel safe and loved with each other.  Let's not not seek out the goodness around us.

So here's my friend getting a shoeshine on her purple boots.  She had gotten them 20 years ago in London.  She was alone on a school trip.  She wanted the boots you couldn't get in the states.  Purple Docs, they told her.  They looked like hell but were serving her well.  Now, she's back, brassier than before with red and blue shine.

Paz,
Anne
