“"Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings -- that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide."
--The Buddha
When we are said to be making meaning, we are in a deep process of figuring out the purpose and functioning of the system we are serving. That may be a urban teen service organization. That may be a congregation. Reflection, art, doubt, and meaning making is the process of how persons make sense of self, what is greater than the self, life events, relationships and the ultimate.
